1963 Masters Contestant Pin - Player 55 - Jack Fleck

With only 84 contestants appearing in the 1960 Masters. This red and white 1 1/4" x 1 1/2"plastic badge is highly elusive to Masters collectors. With badge #1 going to the past years champion each badge is then issued according to when the player shows up for the Masters and registers for the tournament. In 1960, Fleck received #55 as would also be listed on the Masters pairing sheet from that year. The '57 Masters would see the first year of a 36-hole cut at the event(Ben Hogan would miss his only career cut that year), but Fleck would make the cut and place in 42nd place. With original pin still in place, this contestants pin is simple in design but packs a big punch in the way of Masters collectables. An added plus is the fact that this high quality example comes from a known player, even better a major winner (1955 U.S. Open), and that it was a Jack Nicklaus year in what was one of the smallest fields in modern Masters history.
