Jimmy Hines 1934 Wire Photo at 'Augusta Masters' Golf Tournament' with Acme Stamp 3/24/1934
Bobby Jones paired with friend and business partner Clifford Roberts to bring the "Augusta National Invitation Tournament" to the newly opened club in 1934. Picture here is contestant and PGA Tour standout Jimmy Hines working on his swing in front of towering Augusta National trees, who would go on to tie for 8th during that historic week. This photograph on Augusta National Golf Club grounds is dated March 24, 1934, the third round of play. Difficult it is to find items from that first "Masters" tournament in 1934, with this being an example of such. The verso includes the original corresponding photo caption, along with an 'ACME' studio stamp. 6" x 8."
