Large French Medal from The Saint Cloud Country Club in Original Box - Harry Colt Design
This medal traces its origins back to The Saint Cloud Country Club located a hop, skip and a jump from Paris, France. This medal was awarded in July 1932 The front of the medal features a depiction of William Innes, Captain of the Society of Golfers at Blackheath and his caddie. The image is from the famous 1790 mezzotint by Lemuel Francis Abbott. The rear of the medal depicts what appears to be the entrance to the club with “Saint Cloud Country Club” around the rim in bold capital letters with a banner inscribed “2 Juillet 1932” overlaid on a bed of golf clubs and balls. This is a superbly crafted medal with fine detail such as the epaulets on Innes’s coat to the spur toe iron carried by the caddie and the picket fence in the background. The thick medal is 2 ½ inches in diameter and comes in its’ original fitted case. The Saint Cloud country club was founded in 1913. Designed by Harry Colt, the Green course has hosted the French Open on 14 occasions. 2 3/4" diameter

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, May 22nd. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bidders in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm EDT
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm EDT
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm EDT, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
