Vintage Meriden S.P. Co. International Golf Themed White Metal Pitcher

This Meriden S.P. Co. International pitcher from the first half of the 20th century features a time-period golf scene wrapping around the white metal cylinder. This pitcher is in good to very good condition, as depicted in the accompanying lot photos. Below is an overview of the company from writer Edmund P. Hogan in An American heritage: A book on the International Silver Company (1977), pp. 167.

"MERIDEN SILVER PLATE CO., Meriden, Conn. Organized in 1869, the company was acquired by H. C. Wilcox, President of [Meriden Britannia Co.] in 1870. After International Silver Co. was formed in 1898, the business was moved into the Meriden Britannia Co. plant. Its large glass cutting department was combined with that of the Wilcox Silver Plate Co. and continued producing a fine line of cut glass until 1915, under the name of Meriden Cut Glass Co. During the early 1900’s Meriden Britannia Co. produced an extensive line of medium priced silverplated hollowware under the trademark of the Meriden Silver Plate Co. It continued in active use until 1938."

2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET

Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid placed during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
