1931 National Open Match Play Walter Hagen Press Photo - Lake Merced
Waiting for just the right light to capture the post-swing posed Walter Hagen in 1931 at the National Open Match Play tournament was the San Francisco Bureau photographer of this still. Notice the vantage point of the aforementioned lensman is from the grass just feet in front of The Haig. The best dressed on tour at the time, Hagen famously said that he didn't want to be a millionaire, just wanted to live like one - evident by the suave appearance in this photo at Lake Merced CC. 7" x 9 1/2"
