Jack Nicklaus Signed 1964 Canada Cup Championship Program
The biggest names in golf, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, teamed up to win the 1964 Canada Cup held in Hawaii. The format in 1964 was 72 holes of stroke play with the combined score of the two-man team determining the winner. Not only did Jack and Arnie team up to win the team event, but Jack also received the International Trophy, which was awarded to the individual with the best 72-hole score. The tournament was founded by Canadian industrialist John Jay Hopkins, who hoped it would promote international goodwill through golf. It began in 1953 as the Canada Cup and changed its named to the World Cup in 1967. A nicely signed program from that tournament is from the Golden Bear himself.
