Ed Dudley Vintage Pencil Signed Cut

When it came time for Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts to select a head pro for the Augusta National they turned to Ed Dudley who held the position from 1932-1957. An accomplished Tour professional, Dudley won 15 PGA Tour events . He became the first player to finish in the Top 10 in all four Majors when he accomplished the feat in 1937 (not performed again until Arnold Palmer in 1960). Dudley was also the member of three United States Ryder Cup teams in 1929, 1933 and 1937. The signed pencil cut of Dudley measures 2" x 3 3/4" and is accompanied by a 7" x 9" black and white original Wide World wire photo depicting Dudley driving the ball on June 6 in the first round of the 1938 United States Open at Cherry Hills. This shot which appears in EX/MT condition carries a caption that lists that this photo appeared in publication on June 10, 1938. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides authenticity for the Ed Dudley autograph in this lot.
