Worcester CC Course Flown Flag - Site of 1925 US Open


In 1925, Willie McFarlane won the U.S. Open at Worcester Country Club. After tying Bobby Jones over the first 72 holes, the two men played an 18-hole playoff and both of them shot 75. Mcfarlane won a second 18-hole playoff by 72 shots to Jones' 73. Offered in this lot is a Worcester Country Club course flown flag. Worcester Country Club was also the course that hosted the first "official" Ryder Cup match between Great Britain and the United States in 1927.
