Jack Nicklaus Signed 1964 Nicklaus & Palmer Exhibition and Clinic Program

A crowd of only 3,000 was on hand as Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer braved the wind, sun and dust (winds gusted from 45 to 50 miles per hour) for the event held at the remote Western Texas Gaines County Golf Course. This course was in the proximity to Seminole, Texas (approx. 6,000 population). What a difference 50 years makes, (you could never see Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy showing up today). This souvenir program measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" for the Tuesday, May 5 event over the par 72 course which saw Nicklaus shoot two over 74 and Palmer seven over 79. The pair both flew in together in Arnie's plane and claimed appearance fees of Palmer $3,500 and Nicklaus $3,000. It is not known if they flew out together, and who was saying the loudest, "This is a fine mess you got me into this time!". Jack Nicklaus signature in black sharpie appears on the cover of Excellent condition program. JSA authenticity for Nicklaus autograph comes with this lot.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on November 22nd with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
