Tom Watson Signed Muirfield Logo Golf Ball
Tom Watson for decades to come will always be recognized as one of the greatest British Open players of all-time. His five championships in The Open came on five different courses. His 1980 triumph came at Scotland's Muirfield by four strokes over Lee Trevino. Watson who has long been reluctant to sign memorabilia from his Major triumphs. Has placed black sharpie to this Muirfield logo ball forming a pleasing autograph across its surface. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides authenticity with this lot.
All proceeds from this auction item will be donated to the Bruce Edwards Foundation for ALS Research. In April 2004, Bruce Edwards, longtime friend and caddy of PGA golfer Tom Watson, died from ALS. They provide funds to medical research facilities dedicated to slowing the progression of and finding a cure for ALS. The Foundation fulfills a promise made to Bruce by Tom to continue to fight to find a cure for this fatal disease. We are pleased to offer this item for such a great cause.
