Original 6 1/2"x 8 1/2" A.P. Wire Photo of Helen Hicks & Cut Signature-Founder LPGA


Helen Hicks won the 1931 USGA Womens Amateur championship defeating Glenna Collett-Vare 2&1 in the match play final. Offered in this lot is a 1932 Associated Press wire photo in near mint condition of Helen Hicks with original photo caption still intact on reverse. This image is paired in the lot with a vintage fountain pen signature of Hicks dated 1933. In 1950, Hicks would be one of 13 founding members of the L.P.G.A Tour. She passed away in 1974 at 63. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this autograph of Helen Hicks, and their letter of authenticity comes with this lot
