1949 US Open Championship at Medinah Contestant's Wife Badge
Here we have a contestant's wife badge fromt he 1949 US Open. Cary Middlecoff with brilliant second and third rounds of 67 and 69 over the tough layout of Medinah's Number three course just outside Chicago, Illinois saw his large lead be challenged over the final fourth round by Clayton Haefner and Sam Snead. Though challenged, Middlecoff held on for a one stroke margin of victory over both his pursuers. This badge has a 2 1/4" diameter and is in excellent condition with the pin intact.
