Lot of Two 1946 PGA Championship Ben Hogan Photos

Ben Hogan, returning from military service, claimed his first career Major and first of two PGA Championships as he defeated Ed "Porky" Oliver, 6 & 4 in the 1946 PGA Championship final match. In the morning round Hogan had troubles with his putting and found himself 3-down, but with a 30 on the front nine of the afternoon round he took control of the match, going into the final nine 2-up. Hogan won four of the final five holes, making birdie on three of them, concluding the match on the 32nd hole with a birdie 3. For the day, Hogan was 7-under par, playing the afternoon 14 holes in 8-under par. Offered here are a pair of black and white photos of Ben Hogan at the tournament.
