1939 Western Golf Association Open at Medinah CC Pass #1068 - Byron Nelson Win
The Western Open is a true treasure of Golf with a rich history which dates to its first competition in 1899. An early staple of the PGA Tour often prepared for, and regarded as a Major. The 1939 field drew a pre-World War II who's who of the sport that included Denny Shute, Tommy Armour, Johnny Revolta, Ralph Guldahl, Henry Picard, Horton Smith, Sam Snead, Lloyd Mangrum and Byron Nelson. Contested in 1939 at Medinah Country Club, one of the finest courses in the World, the championship would be claimed by Byron Nelson with a one stroke triumph over fellow Hall of Famer Lloyd Mangrum. Offered here is a ticket from the tournament in great condition. There is some creasing near the string hole and handwriting on the back.
