1946 US Amateur at Baltusrol GC Pairing Sheet - Final 16 Players - First Post WWII Amateur
Ted Bishop used his deadly accuracy with his 3 wood to claim the 1946 US Amateur at Baltusrol. Bishop was down 2 strokes in the finals to Smiley Quick but tied it in the second round to force a tiebreaker hole. Quick inexplicably missed a 2 1/2 foot putt to give Bishop the Amateur Championship. Offered here is a pairing sheet from Thursday, the third round of the competition, in excellent condition. Two familiar names appear on the pairing sheet - Captain Cary Middlecoff and Arthur Wall, Jr.
