Gay Brewer Original Oil Painting by Tommy McDonald- Hung in Augusta
Offered here is a portrait of Gay Brewer by Tommy McDonald. Brewer won the 1967 Masters Tournament, an 9 other PGA Tour events. As an added highlight to this multi-faceted treasure the artist of this work is former All-Pro wide receiver and NFL Hall of Famer Tommy McDonald, with his signature applied to the lower right hand corner of his work. His portrait paintings of famous sports celebrities not only earned him widespread acclaim, but later landed him a regular job painting cover for The Sporting News. The framed oil on board piece measures 21 3/4" x 19 3/4", and had its first home in a restaurant on Washington Road across from The National.
