1969 US Open at Champions Golf Club Clubhouse Badge - Orville Moody
In order to make the field at the 1969 US Open, the 35 year old and 14 year Army veteran Orville Moody, had to advance through both local and sectional qualifying. 'The Sarge' is the last champion to do so. Down three shots entering the final round, Moody kept his head down and got the job done at Champions Club in Houston, Texas, winning the only PGA Tour event of his career. A clubhouse badge from the 1969 US Open is offered here, measuring 1 3/4" x 2 3/4". A previous owner wrote Moody's name on the back of the badge in black marker.
Please note: Our bidders have spoken, and we have listened to their wishes. With that in mind, this auction will end at 5:00pm EST on Sunday, January 28th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period.
Still the lowest rate among major golf auction houses, a buyer's premium of 17.5% for all items is now in effect. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended.
