Phil Mickelson Hand-Signed Letter from College Days on ASU Letterhead
We all know Phil Mickelson can be tough on autographs, so sometimes you have to look deeper to find a coveted early signature from one of golf's most popular players. Here we have a Phil Mickelson hand-written, and signed, letter from his time at Arizona State University, written on paper with an ASU letterhead. Lefty was one of the top amateurs to play before turning professional in 1992. Mickelson has five major championships to date, missing just a U.S. Open title to join Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Ben Hogan, Gene Sarazen, and Gary Player as the only golfers to win each Major, completing the career Grand Slam. Lefty has finished as runner-up at the U.S. Open six times, and is still as big of a threat to get over that hump as ever. The hand-signed note on ASU letterhead reads as follows:
Dear Mr. Stanhope,
I hope this is what you requested. I appreciate your interest and want you to know if there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Phil Mickelson
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed Mickelson's signature and their certification of its authenticity will come with this lot.
Please note: This auction will end at 5:00pm EST on Sunday, April 15th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow.
