Historically significant ticket to the golf world. Saturday ticket for final 36 holes of the 1962 United States Open which saw Arnold Palmer enter the day in a four way tie for first after 36 holes with Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus each two strokes back. On the 72nd hole and final hole that day Palmer would be tied with Nicklaus, A.P.'s 12 footer on 18 for birdie and the win would not drop leaving the two tied forcing an 18 hole playoff the next day. Jack Nicklaus would prevail in the Sunday 18 hole playoff for his first career win. Palmer's post match quote to sum up Nicklaus' win would be, "Now that the big guy is out of the cage, everybody better run for cover." This ticket from the first of Jack's 18 Majors retains its original string attachment. It shows serious signs of patron wear that day around the course exhibiting wear around all edges and numerous surface creases across both sides of ticket. Name has also been written on the reverse. This daily grounds ticket (2 1/8"W X 4 1/4"L) #90 was the golden pass to golf's passing of the torch from the Palmer era to the Nicklaus era.

Session 1: Lots 1-500 will end on 4/11/13 and Session 2 Lots 500+ will end on 4/14/13 with extended bidding to start at 9:00 PM EST for both sessions. In order to bid in extended bidding you must place a bid on the lot before 9pm on auction closing day.
