1947 Walker Cup Program at St. Andrews with Saturdays Pairings - Francis Quimet Captain

This 39 page program for the May 16 & 17, 1947 Walker Cup matches remains in EX+ condition with lilly white pages and a strong staple center binding. One apparent flaw is a 1 3/4 inch surface crease on upper right hand corner of cover. These matches represented the 11th meeting between USA and Great Britain amateurs in the series dating back to 1922, and the first contested since 1938 due to the ravages of World War II in Europe. One page 5 3/4 X 8 7/8 sheet as a blown in insert to the program presenting eight Saturday singles matches. This sheet is preserved in NR-MT condition. Three page article on St.Andrews is included inside the program.

Session 1: Lots 1-500 will end on 4/11/13 and Session 2 Lots 500+ will end on 4/14/13 with extended bidding to start at 9:00 PM EST for both sessions. In order to bid in extended bidding you must place a bid on the lot before 9pm on auction closing day.
