Original 11x14 Photo - Nelson, Stranahan, Demaret, and Crosby-From 1942
Original 11x14 Toledo newspaper photo shows the four golfers who did their part for the war time benefit of the United Service Organizations (USO)on this Sunday afternoon in 1942.In the exhibition match Frank Stranahan and Byron Nelson were 2 up winners over Bing Crosby and Jimmy Demaret. This photo was taken as the foursome left the tee on the fourth hole at Inverness. A moment after this picture was taken Nelson holed a 175-yard approach shot for an eagle two on the difficult hole.
Framed: 15" x 12" remains in excellent condition.
A portion of the Frank Stranahan collection proceeds will be donated to The First Tee of Lake Erie.
