1948 Brazilian Amateur Runners-up Sterling Trophy
The finals of the 1948 Brazilian Amateur Championship,staged at the Sao Paulo Golf Club, and won by Mario Gonzalez on the 36th hole over Frank Stranahan will long be remembered for the high level of golf that came down to the last putt on the last green. Gonzalez was the victor securing his home countries amateur crown. For his second place finish in Brazil September 16-19, Stranahan received the trophy offered in this lot which is inscribed S.P.G.C.

The dimensions of the Brazilian trophy are 3" diameter and 7" tall, width is 5 1/4" to the handles
A portion of the Frank Stranahan collection proceeds will be donated to The First Tee of Lake Erie.
