1948 Los Angeles Open Low Amateur Award Lawson Clock


In the 22nd edition of the PGA's Los Angeles Open, Frank Stranahan entered the final 18 holes of the stroke play event in a dead heat with Doug Ford for low amateur honors. With a 70 on Sunday, Stranahan edged Ford by two strokes for the Low Am title (he also finished 12th overall, with Ben Hogan the event champion). The Lawson Electric Clock offered in this lot was Stranahan's award for leading the amateur competitors it engravings outline Frank's accomplishment:
