Marilyn Smith Handwritten & Signed 2003 Letter on Letterhead - Jan. 15th
"My dad introduced me to golf at age 12 and I still miss him," Marilyn Smith fondly reminisced in this hand-written letter to a fan of the World Golf Hall of Famer and one of the original LPGA founders. When inspected, you will notice that this penned letter is on Marilyn’s personal letterhead celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Ladies Professional Golf Association in 2003, listing her as "Founder and Charter Member" of the esteemed organization. Marilyn offers condolences to "Bill" who then recently lost his father, prior to concluding the letter with "your golfing friend" and a perfect 10 signature. After turning professional in 1950, Smith would play her way to 21 tour wins including two majors at the Titleholders Championship.
