Mid-Late 1800's Brass Head Rut Iron with Deep Concave Face and D.S. Shaft Stamp - Attributed to David Strath

This rut iron is not like the others, as it features a unique and desirable brass and gun metal head. Deep concave face. Very long 5" hosel. Higher than G swing weight. Reshafted. The origin story for this club is that it is attributed to David Strath and acquired from Davy Strath by Will Roberto from the Strath family in the early 1990's during a trip to Scotland with fellow collector Joe Tiscornia, where Roberto was told it was David Strath's own personal iron. We do not have paperwork on the attribution. David Strath of North Berwick was a good friends with Young Tom Morris and often attempted to team up with him for match play, unsurprisingly there weren't many takers. 38"

If you would like any additional pictures of the club we would be happy to to supply them, please inquire prior to February 3rd for sufficient time to guarantee a thorough response. Please use the attached card as merely a reference tool, as we have done additional research to best determine age of these vintage clubs and present them as such.
