Early 1800's Putter Made of Fruitwood & "F.O. Crawford" Shaft Stamp
During a time in which two putters were often carried in the bag, the putter in this lot was utilized for work on the green and free from abuse, while the other would be put in play off the green. Condition is very good, partly as a result of this, down to the tight rams horn insert found in the sole. Fruitwood shaft. Prominent 'F.O. Crawford' shaft stamp. First quarter of 1800's. Re-shafted later, as shaft stamp depicts later stamp. 38"
