1. MacGregor Iron Masters Charley Penna Signature Model Putter - Not a Dozen in the World A very scarce putter reserved for the best of the best in the Worlds putter collections. 2. 1952 MacGregor 2-9 Tourney Wingback Irons (57)
MT Wingback irons. Clubs were rechromed and never hit after. Stamped Charley Penna, reshafted Lamkin rubber grips
3. Unstruck Prototype Toney Penna Woods Set - 1, 3, 4, and 5
These never hit clubs were prototypes for Toney Penna. The woods feature an unusual full sole plate.#1 Wood is aluminum, while 3,4 and 5 are brass. They have red 4 screw inserts with aluminum firing pin laminated heads. These clubs also contain True Temper Dynamic R shafts and Green/Black rubber Golf Pride Grips. These clubs which display the Toney Penna toe decal were never put into his line of clubs.
4. Charley Penna Green and White Golf Bag
In this auction we have many pieces of Toney Penna's prized design work which were highly sought after by amateur and professional players alike. Toney refered to many of these clubs as "Reference Clubs". The most perfect rendering of a model, these were used to compare a production club to its ideal. Toney frequently made prototypes, experiments , some were mass produced, some were left on the workbench. Many of his masterpieces were too costly or difficult to make , to be considered for mass production. One example is drivers with intricate face inserts, while beautiful, too many clubs would be rejected because the heads were easily ruined. These clubs are the best of the best, cream of the crop. Toney Penna handcrafted original pieces of art, many ONE of a kind.
