Mallet "Gassiat Grand Piano" Style Putter - Arthur Lacy Berkshire GC Shaft Stamp
With its identifying square shaped toe, this putter sits as the creation of a clubmaker that was clearly inspired by Jean Gassiet's design. This putter's unique lines aid in setting up the putt on one's intended line. Many suspect that the square toe acted as another face option, one that would lend itself to a croquet style putt. It features a brass plate on its sole, conjoined by eight uniform screws. Two-time Ryder Cup contestant for Great Britian and 1951 team captain Arthur Lacy served as the longtime professional in Ascot, Berkshire at the Berkshire Golf Club from 1934 until 1952. Stamped clearly with "Arthur Lacy Berkshire GC" on the shaft, this early putter is sure to compliment your collection through display or play. It is in good condition, with only minor blemishes and chips. The putter measures 34" from the top of the grip to the bottom of the heel. Whipping has become loose, please see photos.
