Mark McCumber's 1989 US Open at Oak Hill Runner-Up Used Scorecard
Presented here is the tournament used official Final Round scorecard from 1989 US Open runner-up Mark McCumber from June 18, 1989. McCumber shot a final round 1-under 69 to finish the tournament, only one stroke shy of champion Curtis Strange. McCumber would subsequently earn the opportunity to play for the US Ryder Cup team that year where he went 2-1 in his three matches in a tying effort with the European Team. This scorecard was carried and marked by long-time tour professional Tom Pernice Jr. When furthered examined, Tom made a correction on the par 4 - 8th hole in which Pernice added his initials next to the corrected birdie score. Curtis Strange would go on to win the next US Open and defend his title the following year at The Country Club Brookline. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
