Mecca Cigarettes Tobacco Cards - Smith, Low, Douglas, Nicholls, and Hobens


Here we have 5 Mecca tobacco golfers cards. These cards were packaged inside Mecca brand tobacco products and served not only to get the consumer to keep buying the product, but also as reinforcement for the packaging itself. The cards included are as follows:

Alex Smith - 1906 and 1910 US Open champion
Gil Nicholls - 2nd place at the US Open in 1904 and 1907
Jack Hobens - PGA of America founding member (significant paper loss to back of card)
George Low - 2nd place at the 1899 US Open and Baltusrol head pro
Findlay Douglas - 1898 US Amateur champion
