Original 1976 World Golf HoF Tom Morris, Tommy Armour & Others Dom Lupo Painting Oil on Canvas - Framed
Revered 20th century golf artist Dom Lupo was commissioned by the Golf Hall of Fame, then in Pinehurst, to paint this original 1976 inductees class oversize oil painting that was proudly displayed there and then again in the World Golf Hall of Fame just outside of Jacksonville, FL. This jaw-dropping 40x35" centerpiece features just the third class enshrined, consisting of Jerome Travers, Tommy Armour, Mickey Wright, James Braid, and Old Tom Morris from left to right and is now consigned as part of the World Golf Hall of Fame Collection. Lupo's tenure at 'Golf Magazine' spanned 25 years, with his Hall of Fame worthy work originals hung and prints made for the masses. Nothing comes close to the original oil painting, which is what is proudly presented here. For many of the six golf immoralities, it was a long-time coming. To think that Old Tom Morris was not in the first, or second, Golf Hall of Fame class in 1974 and 1975 is surprising - but he wouldn't be captured in his iconic putting pose by Lupo on this painting if he had. Dom Lupo signed and dated this tastefully framed work in the bottom right-hand corner.
