Peter Butler's 1973 Official Ryder Cup Golf Bag
Peter Butler made his first match appearance in the 1973 Ryder Cup with interesting fashion when Britain's Bernard Gallacher contracted food poisoning. Butler was summoned from bed just 1 1/2 hours before his tee time to replace Gallacher. Butler in this match on Day 2 of event became the first ever player to record a hole-in-one in Ryder Cup history. He aced the par-3 16th hole at Muirfield. His 1973 Ryder Cup Team Golf Bag and set of four head covers from that day are offered. Please see photo with this lot which shows match of this exact bag.
