President Dwight D. Eisenhower Signed 1964 Letter to PGA President Warren Orlick - Framed
Presented here is a framed letter from President Dwight D. Eisenhower to Warren Orlick, PGA President, from 1964. The display also includes a photograph of a golfing foursome that includes President Eisenhower. "Ike" was an avid golfer and fan and friend of many golfers. He joined Augusta National Golf Club in 1948 and was relatively close to Clifford Roberts. Eisenhower was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2009 in the Lifetime Achievement category. The letter reads as follows:
"Dear Warren:
Thank you very much for the attractive ash tray which you sent to me during my recent visit to Detroit. It was thoughtful of you and I appreciate your kindness.
I had hoped to see you so that I might pass on to you personal greetings sent by Walter Burkemo and others. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance.

Sincerely,
Dwight D. Eisenhower"
