President Eisenhower with Winnie Palmer Alex J. Morrison Photo

Great friends Dwight D. Eisenhower and Arnold Palmer joined each other on many golf outings, both pro-ams and for pure enjoyment. Pictured is Eisenhower with Arnold's wife Winnie Palmer showing Arnold support from their first row seats. Five-star General Dwight D. Eisenhower served as the 34th President of the United States for two terms from 1953 to 1961 and was known as an avid golfer, with a close relationship to Bobby Jones and Augusta National Golf Club. IKE was beloved by many and played a large part in the United States history, exhibiting leadership when the nation needed it the most and that will always be remembered. The photo has a penned notation on the top of the verso, with Alex Morrison's studio stamp on the bottom. 8" x 10"

Esteemed golf instructor Alex Morrison was behind many impressive game's, likely none more than that of Henry Picard's. The lineage to the Golden Bear is simple and complex, as Picard then taught Jack Grout, who taught Jack Nicklaus. Morrison was behind all of it, and much more as his teachings were in numerous books and newspapers for the masses. His reach in the golf industry went further, as Morrison became an acclaimed photographer and writer, each of which could have been his sole profession. Here is an original Morrison photo, with the influential figure the eye behind the camera that took it.
