Richmond, VA.: Joe Novak (right), President of the professional golfers association, presents PGA trophy to Sam Snead of White Sulphur Springs, W.VA., after the latter defeated Johhny Palmer of Badin , NC., 3 and 2 for the title. Runner up Palmer (left) holds the Ryder Cup. Sneads victory was worth $3,500 and Palmer won $1.500.
