Vintage Circa 1897 Spalding Cran Wood Face Gold Medal Left-Handed Brassie Cleek
Offered here is a vintage Spalding Cran Cleek golf club, originally seen in the 19th century. The left-handed club offered in this lot has a steel head with a wooden insert, hickory shaft, with no grip present. It features in design, two screws, the heads of which are visible on the back of the blade to hold the wood in place. This club was manufactured in 1897 by A.G. Spalding & Co., and patented in the same year by James Cran. The club has "The Spalding" along with "Cran", "Accurate", 'Gold Medal', and a stamped C on the back. This early Cran iron has a face showing the worn down scored fine lines. Truly a cornerstone club for any hickory or American patent club collection. This Spalding Cran Cleek club is in good condition. Please review photos for details of condition. 40"
