Vintage Dunlop Man Mechanical Desk Calendar Point of Sale Piece - Works
This version of the popular point of sale Dunlop Man shares a base with an accompanying working mechanical desk calendar to the immediate right. The Dunlop Man, Penfold Man and Silver King advertising point of purchase pieces are a sector of golf memorabilia that boasts a high presentation value and thus is popular with colletors. This marketing piece for the Dunlop company would sit in pro shops and and on the counter tops of retail stores that sold Dunlop merchandise. The head is movable, allowing for different poses. Dunlop began manufacturing rubber golf balls in 1910 and introduced the Maxfli ball in 1922. This piece includes most of its original paint. 6" tall and 6 1/2" in length.
