Walter J. Travis 100th Invitational Champions Plate
The Travis hosted for over 100 years at the Garden City Golf Club on Long Island is known as The Greatest Amateur Golf Tournament in America save for the U.S. Amateur. Named for Hall of Famer Walter Travis who won the U.S. Amateur in 1900 and added the British Amateur in 1904 from which he returned to Garden City Golf Club. The Travers combines a medal play round of qualifying with two days of match play to determine its champion. David Eger has had unparalleled success at this event as its four time champ. This seldom seen commemorative plate was awarded to each of the past champions at the 100th yearly playing of the event.

The verso of this 10 1/4" diameter plate recognizes that it is the work of Winners Award Group of Florida known for its golf awards at prestigious courses from coast to coast.
