B. McInnes Prestwick Golf Club Hand Forged Junior Mammoth Niblick
Offered here is a junior mammoth niblick by B. McInnes of Prestwick. The club is stamped as follows:
"B. McInnes Prestwick Golf Club
Hand forged
X Niblick"
It would appear that this club was made for B. McInnes at Prestwick. Research shows a Robert McInnes was head pro at Prestwick for 35 years, the name stamped on the club here could be a relative or simply a shortened name to "Bob." Prestwick Golf Club was the original home of the Open Championship, hosting it 24 times from 1860-1925. Even more interesting is that Old Tom Morris was the first head professional of the club, crucial in the development of the course and shaping the future of the club for generations to follow. This junior mammoth comes in good condition, showing wear to the head and the leather wrap grip, please see photographs. It measures 37 1/2" to the heel.
