Byron Nelson Signed Wilson Red & White 'Byron Nelson' Full Size Golf Bag BECKETT #A61160
Father of the modern day swing, Texan Byron Nelson claimed his first major title in Augusta at the Masters in 1937 and followed it up with a win five years later in 1942. He would capture victory in the US Open in 1939 and the PGA Championship in 1940 and 1945. His most impressive metric of success, however, doubles as a lasting record in golf and all of sport - 11 consecutive PGA Tour wins in 1945. Side-by-side with Gene Sarazen and Sam Snead, Byron Nelson were chosen as The Masters Honorary Starters for the majority of tournaments from 1981 until 1999. Presented here is Byron Nelson's Masters Tournament Starter bag, it was given to and signed outside the PGA Show for fellow golfer in 2-time PGA Tour winner R.H. Sikes. "Byron Nelson" is written up the large white pocket in jet black script of the red and white Wilson Staff Professional model, with his signature in blue sharpie parallel to that. Please refer to the pictures of this bag for a detailed condition report. Beckett Authentication has reviewed this signature and their FULL letter of authenticity #A61160 comes with this lot.
