Arthur Lacey's 1977 Ryder Cup Royal Lytham & St Annes Golden Jubilee in Presentation Box
In his last Ryder Cup that he attended Arthur Lacey was given this Golden Jubilee, as a token of appreciation for what he has done for the Great Britain Ryder Cup Team and the sport of golf in general. Sometime after his passing in 1979 Mrs. Arthur Lacey donated this piece of history to the World Golf Hall of Fame that was located in Pinehurst. This piece comes from the PGA Reach collection, as it has the original information on the back. Arthur Lacey was a dominant English golfer in the 1930's and played on the 1933 and 1937 Ryder Cup Teams and Captained the 1951 Great Britain team. Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club was the host site for the 1977 Ryder Cup. Here is a golden jubilee from this tournament in a presentation box. The United States won the matches 12 1/2" to 7 1/2." This piece will come with a signed letter from Historian Bob Denney of the PGA, proclaiming that this item comes from their collection.
