Ray Floyd's 1969 Ryder Cup Contestant Bullion Blazer Crest / Badge
1969 marked Ray Floyd's first Ryder Cup appearance for Team USA. He would go on to be selected for seven more teams as a contestant and one more as a captain (1989). With intricate detail, this piece uses gold stitching to encompass the famed crossing flags above the Ryder Cup trophy and year of matches. The United States flag crosses the Great Britain flag, the match-up that lasted from 1927 until 1977. These bullion badges are very sought after due to their presentation qualities and when it is from an 8-time Ryder Cup member's personal collection the intrigue grows exponentially. It is 4" tall and 3 1/4" wide. This item comes from the Ray Floyd Collection and a signed letter from Robert Floyd will come with the lot.
