Circa 1900's Slazenger Splice Neck Driver with F.E.G. Shaft Stamp
For over a century Slazenger has been producing sporting goods, primarily in the golf and tennis equipment sectors. However, during the years of WWII, the factory took on manufacturing tasks that helped aide the war efforts similar to many others no matter the industry of production. Unfortunately the factory was bombed and thus began a series of mergers to continue their manufacturing efforts. In the end, the Slazenger name survived. Here is a 'splice neck' driver referring to the way in which the head was connected to the shaft. There is a lead weight on the sole and a sheepskin grip. Condition is fair to good, with a sizable dent in the club face.
