Sports Illustrated Miniature Advertising Booklet with Ben Hogan at The Masters Cover
The shot of Ben Hogan post-swing with trees on either side of the fairway is likely familiar to you, as the 1954 Sports Illustrated Masters Tournament preview is one of the iconic golf covers. This example of that publication is different, as it is a miniature advertising effort with blank pages and prices for a single Sports Illustrated copy or subscription rate of the then 575,000 circulation of the weekly magazine. There is no label on this NY,NY booklet, as that would take up nearly the entire cover.
