Stewart Cink Signed 2009 Open Championship at Turnberry Flag
Here we have a 2009 Open Championship at Royal Turnberry flag, signed by tournament winner Stewart Cink. Cink signed the flag in black Sharpie. The 2009 British Open remains Cink's lone major championship, and he defeated 1977 Open winner Tom Watson (also at Turnberry) in a four-hole playoff to earn the Claret Jug. Watson, at 59, missed his opportunity to win his sixth Open and become the oldest major champion, but failed to make par on the 72nd hole to finish tied with Cink.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
