1914 Marsuma Cigarettes Famous Golfers and Their Strokes #36 Harry Vardon CGC 2 Good
They don't get much more legendary than Harry Vardon. This is a 1914 vintage cigarette trading card produced by Marsuma Cigarettes for the set titled Famous Golfers and Their Strokes. The card, identified as number 36, features the Harry Vardon. The front of the card depicts a sepia-toned photographic image of Vardon at the completion of a golf swing. The image is framed by a decorative border with geometric patterns at the top and bottom. The card is professionally authenticated and encapsulated in a clear plastic grading slab from CGC (Certified Guaranty Company). The label at the top of the slab identifies the card as 1914 Marsuma Cigarettes, Famous Golfers and Their Strokes, #36 Harry Vardon, with a grade of GOOD 2. The certification number 6208602011 and a barcode are printed at the bottom of the label. The reverse of the card features a printed black design and text. A header at the top reads MARSUMA PURE VIRGINIA CIGARETTES in a stylized arch. Below this is the text SERIES OF 50 PICTURES followed by 36. HARRY VARDON. The descriptive text on the back reads: This shows a fine finish of a full cleek shot. Note the body facing in the direction of the hole. Note hands still together. See No. 1 for very important information re grip. The bottom of the card contains a logo reading MARSUMA CO in an oval and CONGLETON below it. The back of the grading slab includes a holographic security sticker with the CGC logo and a QR code for verification.
