1914 National Amateur Championship Ekwanok Country Club Post Card

Here offered is an postcard that depicts the 1914 National Amateur tournament that Francis Ouimet won over Jerry Travers through six pictures, including a larger tournament field picture on bottom featuring all the golfers that competed. Both Ouimet and Travers were some of the very best amateur golfers to ever play totaling six victories. It is quite remarkable that this postcard not only has lasted the test of time (over 100 years), but was never used or written on, keeping it in very good shape with all things considered. It is fairly difficult to obtain quality items from this important tournament. This relic of competition at golfs highest level comes directly from the PGA where it has resided for over 75 years. From the collection of PGA REACH, with a certificate of authenticity accompanying this lot.
