1930 Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Oakmont Contestant Badge - George Dunlap Winner
Princeton Golfer and 1933 US Amateur champion George Dunlap helped not only his school's team win the 1930 Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Oakmont, but took the individual title as well. The following year when the Intercollegiate Golf Championship was held at Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois he was able to defend his individual title. This feat had only been accomplished twice prior since the inaugural 1897 tournament. The historic Oakmont Country Club was established 27 years prior in 1903 and had played host to the 1916 Intercollegiate Golf Championship. This contestant badge is in very good condition and features a similar design to the time-period USGA badges.
