1932 Women's US Amateur at Salem CC Contestants Badge - Virginia Van Wie Winner


1932 was the year that Van Wie broke through to national fame. Not only was it her first of three consecutive National Amateur titles, but she won by defeating the infamous Glenna Collett. After winning her final championship in 1934, and based on her performance for the entire year, she earned the 1934 Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year and was proclaimed the "world's greatest female golfer." This 1932 Women's Amateur Contestant badge is in excellent condition and has a 1 1/4" diameter
