1933 US Open at North Shore CC Contestants Badge - Johnny Goodman Winner

Amateur Johnny Goodman went on to win the 1933 U.S. Open (becoming the fifth and final amateur to this day to win the Championship). The closest an amateur has come to a U.S. Open title since was in 1960 when a young Jack Nicklaus was the runner-up, two strokes back. This seldom seen 1 1/8" x 1 1/4" 1933 U.S. Open Contestants badge is in great condition. It comes from Gus Mader (as seen on verso stamping)who played out of Blue Mound Country Club outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This club was the site of the 1933 PGA Championship, as won by Gene Sarazen.

1 1/8" x 1 1/4"
